Hi Guy's, Just started to take a model B grinder apart to restore and am finding some parts that are broke. Will be looking for the breaker pieces on the main shaft part #274F and 275F. The third piece is useable. Agitator bracket 304F with worm gear is missing altogether but could live without it. Any help would be appreciated.

May 13, 2011. #1. I have a question about a Letz burr mill. Someone just dropped one off at the local scrap yard and I am wondering if its worth bringing home. Its a Model 220 Type A and looks to be fairly complete. There is a lot of green paint left on the cast iron parts and base but the hopper has lost most of its paint.

The term "Burrs" or "Buhrs" refers to steel/iron plates or cones that are used to grind up a product. This is in contrast to the hammers in a hammermill. Sometimes the stones in a stone gristmill are referred to as Buhr stones. A lot of people are confused by "gristmill" and "feed grinder" and "Burr Mill".

By far, the 2 1/2hp Economy ran it the best. It is my belief that it was the correct engine speed along with right pulley size on the engine to power the mill. I could fill a 5 gal bucket of cracked corn in ~10 minutes. The 4hp Appleton would do a little better time wise, but the mill was running faster than I wanted.

Age. 43. Sep 10, 2015. #2. Looks like you have an "Improved Little Wonder" mill made by David Bradley for Sears. That style was apparently introduced (according to the Sears catalogs) sometime around 1911 for $8.28 (without the optional legs) and then replaced by the more common "Little Wonder" mills in 1920 for about $8.35 (without legs).
